Full job description

Full Time Educational Assistant

kcs Association is looking for part-time to full time educational assistants, who are able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Preference will be given to those who have experience with children with developmental delays. Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Foster child’s independence within a safe learning environment
  • To ensure children are appropriately supervised at all times
  • To work as a team with Early Learning Educators, Educational Assistants, IPP Coordinators and Early Learning Program Director
  • To help children pursue developmental goals based on their service program plan.
  • Work collaboratively with child’s learning team (e.g. parents, classroom educators, Early Learning Director, other EA’s, therapists etc…)
  • Maintain ongoing communication with child’s learning team to ensure the child’s needs are being met
  • Assist with classroom activities and duties if the child is functioning with immediate supports (e.g. engaged with other children and staff)

Qualifications :

  • Early Childhood Certificate or equivalent, minimum Level 1 required
  • Experience working with children; experience with children with developmental delays is preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Child Intervention Check
  • First Aid/CPR

Required training (e.g. First Aid) can be taken upon successful hire.

Wage: $16.00-$18.00/hr, depending on experience,please note this position is not eligible for wage enhancement through Alberta Child Care.
