The Opportunity:
As part of the Language Programs team, the Early Childhood Educator provides a caring and positive learning environment for children in the childcare programs. The primary responsibilities for this position are planning, preparing and delivery of daily early childhood educational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, caring, and positive learning environment, remaining alert and responsive to children's needs at all times.
- Assist Early Childhood Educators in classroom activities, including the preparation of materials and program delivery.
- Foster creativity, exploration, and curiosity by helping create an engaging learning environment.
- Support children in developing essential social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and communication.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow appropriate guidelines for discipline and behavior management, adhering to center policies.
- Report any suspected child abuse immediately to the Daycare Coordinator.
- Comply with childcare licensing regulations, DIVERSEcity’s Childcare Policy Manual, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
- Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children (ages 0–6) in a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and sensitivity to the needs of young children and their families.
- Cross-cultural experience and knowledge of settlement-related issues.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
A Criminal Record Check is a requirement of employment.
