We are on the lookout for a skilled, operationally minded, Data Analyst. This role will play a critical role in building and owning dashboards, metrics, and data models to support our operations and account management teams.
You will be responsible for deeply understanding our core metrics and ensuring we have actionable and insightful dashboards and data models to support our business. This includes dashboard development, data modelling, data cleanup, and ad-hoc analysis and reporting. This role will work very closely with our operations team.
Base Salary Range: 70k-80k
We are actively hiring to fill this specific position immediately.
Hybrid role based in Downtown Toronto
What You'll Do:
Develop and Maintain Our Data Platform:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our analytics platform.
- Identify and source new data to enrich our existing data platform.
- Partner with our product and engineering teams to build data pipelines and integrations for seamless data ingestion.
- Implement data governance practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
Measure and Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Maintain our source of truth documentation for KPI definitions and data sources across the business.
- Ensure core dashboards are well-maintained and groomed to reduce conflicting information, streamline data usage, and drive actionable insights.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support operational efficiency and revenue retention.
Troubleshoot and Clean Up Data:
- Monitor the data platform for bugs, anomalies, or data quality issues.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to data accuracy, completeness, or consistency.
- Conduct data cleaning and normalization to ensure data integrity and reliability.
What We're Looking For:
- 1-2 years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and manipulating data
- Experience with a Business Intelligence tool: You are comfortable building dashboards and reports in BI tools(Looker, Tableau, Mode, Metabase etc.). We use Looker and Metabase at GoBolt
- A background in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A willingness to go deep into our operations to understand processes and metrics and help shape their development over time.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with operations and logistics, having handled data related to inventory, warehousing, last-mile delivery, and transportation.
- Experience with dbt (data build tool) for modular and version-controlled data transformations
- Proficiency in Python and scripting, including integrating data from external sources.
- Familiarity with version control, with a working knowledge of Git for collaborative development.
