Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance about bakery products
  • Prepare and replenish bakery items, ensuring freshness and presentation standards are met
  • Operate POS systems, sales, and cash handling
  • Upsell bakery products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery counter area in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist with food handling, packaging, and serving to ensure quality and safety standards are upheld
  • Support food preparation tasks like slicing bread, filling display cases, and restocking shelves
  • Manage cash register operations accurately while handling transactions efficiently
  • Support bussing duties by clearing tables or cleaning workspaces as needed in the café or retail environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, retail grocery store, café, or quick service restaurant preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic math calculations
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience with food preparation, baking, or culinary activities is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed
