Full job description
At Tangerine, we’re redefining banking. As Canada’s leading digital bank, we thrive on innovation, agility, and bold thinking, tackling every challenge head-on with leading technology and the unstoppable power of collaboration.
Our client-obsessed teams deliver flexible, accessible banking solutions, breakthrough products, and award-winning service. Beyond banking, we’re committed to making an impact in the communities we serve and across our organization. We foster a culture built on integrity, inclusion, and fearless ambition – where diverse perspectives are valued, and people are empowered to do their best work.
Are you ready to disrupt the status quo? Do you crave challenges that push boundaries? If you’re a high performer looking to accelerate your career and reimagine the banking landscape, this is your moment.
Let’s shape the future of banking together!
- Develop and maintain product strategies, value propositions and multi-year roadmaps for unsecured lending, with primary accountability for Business Line of Credit, Term Loan and Overdraft products.
- Own or support products across the full lifecycle, including client discovery, product design, pricing, business cases, requirements, launch readiness, commercialization, in-life management and retirement.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs, business cash-flow requirements, market dynamics and competitive offerings, and translate insights into differentiated, simple and responsible lending solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver new products and enhancements, establish clear outcomes and requirements, manage dependencies and trade-offs, and ensure coordinated execution across client touchpoints.
- Manage product and portfolio performance using financial, client, operational and risk measures—including acquisition, activation, utilization, balances, revenue, profitability, credit performance and client satisfaction—and leverage SaaS platforms, reporting, data visualization and analytical tools to identify trends, validate assumptions and inform product decisions.
- Partner with Finance and Analytics to develop forecasts, business cases and performance reporting, and recommend actions to achieve sustainable, risk-adjusted growth.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance and Operations to ensure product strategies, processes and changes meet applicable policies, regulatory obligations, control requirements and risk appetite.
- Define and optimize pricing, product features, eligibility, servicing and portfolio management levers in collaboration with relevant partners.
- Prepare clear recommendations and present product strategy, investment priorities, risks, trade-offs and business results to leadership and governance forums.
- Contribute to broader Product team priorities and apply transferable product management capabilities across lending or adjacent product portfolios as business needs evolve.
- Provide leadership, coaching and subject-matter expertise to colleagues and partners, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in product management, strategy, financial services, lending or a related field.
- Experience managing or delivering financial products through multiple stages of the product lifecycle, including strategy, development, launch and ongoing optimization.
- Required background in Business Banking; knowledge of unsecured lending and credit products is an asset.
- University degree in business administration, commerce, finance, economics, marketing, strategy or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong product management and strategic planning capabilities, with the ability to connect client needs, business objectives, risk considerations and delivery realities.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and navigating complex, ambiguous problem spaces.
- Financial and commercial acumen, including experience with business cases, pricing, forecasting, portfolio metrics and profitability drivers.
- Ability to use client, market and performance data to identify opportunities, establish priorities and guide decisions.
- Comfort working with data, SaaS platforms and common analytical tools to interpret portfolio trends, validate assumptions and translate findings into practical product recommendations; familiarity with reporting, data visualization, workflow or product management platforms, and basic querying concepts is an asset.
- Ability to build trusted relationships, influence without direct authority and align stakeholders with differing objectives.
- Strong judgment and working knowledge of risk management, regulatory compliance and governance within a financial services environment.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and succinctly to senior audiences.
- Adaptable, collaborative and comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
- You will be part of a diverse and inclusive team of Client-focused go-getters looking to learn from each other in an environment that celebrates and recognizes success!
- You will have access to thousands of online and in-person courses so you can shape your career growth with support from diverse industry leaders.
- You will get our help to save for your future and to invest in your total well-being through our Tangerine benefits.
- You belong here, and we are equal and uncomplicated. Bring your true self to work, dress codes don’t apply here.
- You will enjoy workspace flexibility and all the excitement that comes from working at the official Bank of the Toronto Raptors.
