SENIOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER

(Finance SystemsIntegrations)

Salary: $70K to $90K

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid 3 days in office)

Department: Finance

Reports To: Director, Enterprise Finance

ABOUT TPH

At TPH, we are rebuilding the way Finance does its work. We are on the ground floor of transitioning from legacy systems to a holistic Microsoft business applications ecosystem built for customer centricity, automated workflows, real-time data insights, and state-of-the-art financial controls.

We are looking for a Senior Business Applications Developer (Finance SystemsIntegrations) who wants to be more than a technical resource. This is a role for someone who wants to get close to the work, understand how the business runs, and build practical Microsoft-based solutions that enable Finance to stay as a trusted, value-added partner to the business as it continues to scale and grow.

You will help shape Finance's technology roadmap as we move from legacy architecture, including systems and services around Microsoft Dynamics GP and MetaViewer, to a modern ecosystem built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dataverse, Power BI, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE).

We want someone who is excited to push the Microsoft platform properly: using curiosity, discipline, and strong judgment to find elegant out-of-the-box solutions before defaulting to custom workarounds.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Director, Enterprise Finance, you will be a member of the Finance team and act as the technical liaison between Finance and TPH's Microsoft Business Applications ecosystem. While this role sits within Finance, you will work closely with the Digital Solutions team specializing in:

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (SalesInsightsService)
  • Dataverse
  • Power Automate
  • Power BI
  • Enterprise Integrations
  • Custom Business Central Development
  • Microsoft Business Applications

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys being in the details, solving real workflow problems, building integrations, strengthening controls, and turning Finance requirements into Microsoft-based solutions people can trust every day.

The right person for this role is curious, practical, and hands-on. You ask good questions. You like understanding why a process exists before changing it. You care about accuracy, security, data integrity, documentation, and clean execution. You are not looking to sit above the work-you want to build, test, improve, and leave behind systems that are stronger because you touched them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Systems Modernization

  • Contribute to Finance's migration from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Business Central as a hands-on member of the finance systems team
  • Work with Finance and Digital Solutions to translate requirements into practical, secure, supportable Microsoft-based solutions
  • Support data migration, validation, reconciliation, and reporting transition work with a strong focus on accuracy and controls
  • Look first for out-of-the-box Microsoft platform capabilities before recommending custom development

Business Central Development

  • Develop and enhance Business Central extensions using AL under established architecture and development standards
  • Configure and customize Business Central to support approved finance workflow, reporting, and integration requirements
  • Build and support APIs, event subscribers, integrations, and automation processes as part of the broader Microsoft engineering roadmap
  • Participate in deployments, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and platform optimization
  • Investigate Business Central issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical fixes or enhancements
  • Document solutions clearly so they can be supported, governed, and improved over future platform iterations

DataverseD365

  • Support data modelling, mapping, and maintenance across Dataverse, Business Central, and related Microsoft applications
  • Help build and support integrations between Business Central, Dataverse, Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform, and reporting tools
  • Apply strong attention to permissions, data integrity, auditability, and secure data movement across systems

KingswaySoftEnterprise Integrations

  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations using KingswaySoft and related Microsoft ecosystem tools
  • Support integrations across Business Central, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure services, and enterprise APIs

Power BIReporting Modernization

  • Develop and enhance Power BI reporting that supports Finance operations, controls, and decision-making
  • Build datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and KPI reporting with attention to accuracy, reconciliation, and usability
  • Partner with Finance users to understand reporting needs, validate outputs, and improve visibility into key business information

Required Experience

We are looking for a hands-on Microsoft financial systems practitioner-not a large ERP generalist. The right candidate has meaningful Business Central/NAV experience and ideally has supported, migrated, or stabilized a Dynamics GP to Business Central environment.

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Strong Business Central development skills, including AL, extensions, customization, testing, deployment, and support
  • Experience with Dynamics GP to Business Central migration, coexistence, reporting transition, or legacy finance system stabilization
  • Working knowledge of finance workflows, ERP data structures, reporting dependencies, reconciliations, month-end close, AP, AR, and general ledger processes
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modelling, semantic models, DAX, dashboards, KPI reporting, and report accuracy validation
  • Experience with Dataverse, Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform, KingswaySoft, APIs, OData, REST services, SQL, and integration troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of security, permissions, data integrity, auditability, workflow controls, and secure data movement in a Microsoft financial systems environment
  • Ability to translate Finance requirements into practical, supportable Microsoft-based improvements, integrations, controls, and reports
  • A practical builder's mindset: curious enough to explore what the Microsoft platform can already do, disciplined enough to avoid unsupported shortcuts, and persistent enough to make solutions work properly

WHY JOIN TPH?

This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build the Finance technology foundation TPH will rely on for years. The systems, workflows, real-time reporting, and controls are still being shaped, which means your work will matter immediately and have a lasting impact on how Finance operates and supports the business.

The culture fit matters as much as the technical fit. This role requires a collaborator mindset, pragmatic approach, and a willingness to work shoulder-to-shoulder with Finance, Digital Solutions, and business users. You need to be comfortable asking questions, listening carefully, challenging assumptions respectfully, and getting into the details with the people who use the systems every day.

This is not a remote individual contributor role. You will need to show up, collaborate, test, document, troubleshoot, and build trust through action. The right person will enjoy working close to the business, understanding real workflows, and creating innovative, secure, practical Microsoft-based solutions that people can rely on.

As the platform evolves over the next one to five years, you will have a permanent place to show your work, level up, and grow with it. If you are a hands-on builder who wants to be part of a team, bring value through action, and help create systems that last, we would like to hear from you.

Inclusion and Equal Opportunity Employment

TPH is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. TPH does not discriminate based on race, citizenship, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or other protected characteristics and is committed to employing a diverse workforce. Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. Your accommodation request will be maintained as personal and confidential. If you believe TPH is a good fit for you, feel free to submit your application, we would love to hear from you.
