Bistro Attendant - Part-time (Seasonal)

The Arbutus Club has been a landmark in Vancouver since 1964. Today, we are a modern recreation complex with first class food & beverage services. Our vast range of facilities and programs, coupled with unparalleled service, have earned us a reputation as one of Canada’s finest premier Private Clubs.

We are looking for a Part-time Seasonal Bistro Attendant for our cafeteria style, family-friendly Bistro. This is an entry-level position in one of our busiest Food & Beverage outlets. This is a seasonal position until September 7th(with the possibility for Fall extension). Must have flexible availability to work weekday morning/mid-day shifts from 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Shifts will be between five to six hours per day based on operational needs up to 25 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the Menus and Daily Specials in order to answer any questions and offer any food suggestions to Club Members
  • Learn and prepare specialty beverages including coffees, milkshakes and smoothies
  • Maintain a clean dining area by clearing tables, collecting dirty dishes and returning them to the station/dishwasher
  • Proactively observe Members’ needs, offering assistance and going the extra mile to ensure excellent service
  • Communicate effectively with the Bistro Management team, sharing feedback, ideas, and any concerns to support continuous improvement

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with strong communication skills
  • Bring a positive attitude with the willingness to learn
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 30lbs. and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • MUST be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages
  • ‘Serving It Right’ Certification is required (can be obtained upon hiring)
  • Food Handler/Food Safe Certification is a plus
  • Must be able to perform the full range of tasks and responsibilities as required by the position.
  • Previous customer service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required
