Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef and cook to join our vibrant culinary team! In this role, you will craft authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes, ensuring each plate meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. Your creativity and attention to detail will delight our guests and elevate their dining experience. Duties

  • Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Source fresh ingredients daily, ensuring quality and freshness for all menu items
  • Collaborate with team members to develop new sushi creations and seasonal specials
  • Educate junior staff or apprentices on proper sushi preparation techniques and presentation standards
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages
  • Ensure consistent portion control, plating, and presentation for every dish served

Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
  • Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus, demonstrating patience and teaching ability
  • Ability to teach others about cooking methods, ingredient selection, and food safety practices
  • Excellent classroom experience or background in early childhood education enhances communication skills with diverse team members
  • Passion for cooking combined with creativity to develop innovative sushi dishes
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
