Position Summary
Join our team and receive professional training and mentorship from seasoned Sushi Chefs and our esteemed 2-star Michelin Chef. The Sushi Apprentice is designed to help you build a successful career as a Sushi Chef, offering hands-on experience in the authentic art of making nigiri sushi and exposure to Japanese culinary traditions. The role provides excellent earning potential and the opportunity to develop professionally in a short timeframe.

Sushi Chef/Head Chef

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Master the art of making nigiri sushi through hands-on training.
  • Develop knife handling skills essential for sushi preparation.
  • Learn proper shari techniques, including mixing and handling sushi rice.
  • Work with seasonal Japanese ingredients.
  • Practice Edomae-style fish treatment and preparation.
  • Wash, cook, and mix sushi rice with precision and care.

Qualifications:

  • Strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Passion for Japanese cuisine and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Prior kitchen experience is an asset but not required.
