Sushi Roll Maker – Full-Time

Sushi Nomi | Downtown Victoria, BC

Location: 739 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, BC V8W 2G4
Wage: $22.00 per hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week, if this reflects the actual position

About Us

Sushi Nomi is a Japanese restaurant located in downtown Victoria, specializing in sushi, sashimi, signature rolls, and Japanese cuisine. We are looking for a reliable and skilled Sushi Roll Maker to join our kitchen team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare and portion fish, vegetables, rice, and other ingredients.
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.
  • Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with inventory and food preparation.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience preparing sushi or working in a Japanese restaurant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and safe food handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
