Our Commissary Kitchen is the heart of our prepared foods operation, producing fresh meals, salads, sandwiches, sushi, and specialty products enjoyed across all Summerhill Market locations.

We're currently looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to support our Sushi Production team.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the preparation and production of fresh sushi, poke, and grab-and-go offerings
  • Prepare ingredients including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing vegetables, proteins, and garnishes
  • Cook and prepare sushi rice according to company standards
  • Assemble, package, label, and date finished products
  • Ensure products meet quality, consistency, freshness, and presentation standards
  • Follow recipes and production schedules to meet daily targets
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and rotating inventory
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures
  • Support other kitchen production activities as required

What we're looking for

  • Previous kitchen, food prep, sushi, restaurant, or production experience is an asset
  • Experience working with fresh ingredients and prepared foods is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Food Handler Certification is considered an asset
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry products and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable starting work at 3:00 AM
