Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sushi Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in Japanese food service and sushi bar/kitchen experience to showcase their skills and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Candidates should have a strong understanding of food safety, meal preparation, and food handling procedures to ensure consistent quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitizing work surfaces and utensils
  • Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders to meet service standards
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient sushi bar operations
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
  • Serve dishes with attention to presentation and quality standards

Experience

  • Prior experience in Japanese food/sushi roll/maki/oshi preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Japanese sushi/kitchen BOH
  • Basic sushi line cook knife skill
  • Restaurant or kitchen experience within the food industry is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques is essential
  • Familiarity with meal preparation, food industry standards, and cooking methods is advantageous
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with excellent teamwork skills is a plus
