Sous Chef – Japanese Fine Dining

Calgary, Alberta | Relocation Support Available

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Sous Chef to join one of Calgary’s most respected Japanese restaurants.

We are seeking a talented chef with a genuine passion for Japanese cuisine and experience working in high-quality, chef-driven kitchens. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career within a team committed to precision, craftsmanship and continuous development.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you will help deliver exceptional Japanese cuisine while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency and execution.

We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a high-end Japanese, Asian or contemporary fine dining restaurant.
  • Excellent knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients and techniques.
  • Experience with sushi, robata, yakitori or omakase is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior chefs.
  • Calm, organised and professional during busy services.
  • Passion for continual learning and career progression.
  • Canadian work authorisation or eligibility to work in Canada is preferred.
