We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Surface Land Administrator to join our team in Calgary. Reporting to the Surface Land Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior-level land administration support across our portfolio of surface land assets.

Role and Core Responsibilities of the Senior Surface Land Administrator:

  • Maintain and administer Surface Land Agreements, including Leases, Rights of Way, Road Use, Third Party, Temporary Workspace, Damages, and Access Agreements
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, annual compensation payments, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate and complete land records within the Land Management system (CS Explorer)
  • Register and discharge legal instruments and encumbrances on title
  • Assist in the preparation and review of Assignments and land title documents as they relate to acquisitions and divestitures
  • Collaborate with area Land Agents to support field activity
  • Liaise with landowners, operators, external and internal stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Land Administration, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive surface land administration experience within the Oil and Gas industry
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta surface land practices, Agreements, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with CS Explorer, GeoScout, Abadata, Microsoft Office, and SPIN
  • LEMAC or CALEP member

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidate should be self-motivated, and capable of working independently
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
