Experience with alternative or augmentative communication systems is an asset but training will be provided.

The ideal candidate is patient, empathetic, energetic and committed to supporting independence, dignity, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and sufficient physical fitness to participate in moderate physical activities during outings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support during community outings
  • Promote independence, safety, and inclusion
  • Participate in and support moderate physical activities
  • Communicate respectfully using appropriate strategies

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Reliable personal 4-door vehicle
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Criminal record check
  • Driver's abstract
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Energetic and physically fit for moderate physical activity
