Recent clients of the past two years are encouraged to continue their healing journey and apply at a later date.

We are a shelter for women and their children who experience abuse, violence, and/or homelessness.

We are currently looking to hire casual/relief workers to work on an on-call basis. Hours vary, as the shelter and crisis line are staffed 24/7. Most shifts are 8 am – 8 pm and 8 pm – 8 am.

As a unionized organisation, fulltime positions are only posted internally. Staff that are casual and wish to apply for fulltime positions with us are able to do so as the positions are posted internally.

Interested candidates should have excellent knowledge of the principles of Feminist Practice and should have an intersectional feminist approach from a trauma informed standpoint (or be willing to learn).

We are looking for candidates who possess a university degree (Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts and Community Studies, BA Major in Sociology, Psychology, or Gender and Women’s Studies), or other related programs with 3 years of experience.

Activities of a women's support worker can be varied, from being to first point of contact for a woman in crisis, to helping set up access to resources. Crisis Workers work with women in residence, and on the phone. A full job description is available at the interview, and training is provided.
