Position Overview

Diversified Rehabilitation Group is a leader in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. We are seeking a Support Worker who is passionate about contributing to the health, safety, and overall well-being of participants within a biopsychosocial treatment framework.

As an employee of Diversified Rehabilitation Group, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team supporting adults in their recovery within our residential treatment programs. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to supporting individuals on their mental health and recovery journey within a structured residential environment. Support Workers play a key role in maintaining a safe, predictable, and therapeutic setting for participants.

Responsibilities include supporting daily routines, facilitating mindfulness and functional activities, contributing to therapeutic and recreational programming, and assisting in the organization, cleanliness, and overall readiness of the residence. A well-maintained, structured environment is recognized as an essential component of psychological safety and recovery, and Support Workers are integral to sustaining this standard.

Employees must be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, daytime, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends. This position includes overnight sleep shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This is a designated sleep shift, meaning staff are permitted to sleep during this time unless participant support is required. The hourly wage for sleep shifts is $21.00 per hour. This position requires on-site work in the Lake Country area.

Responsibilities / Abilities:

  • Experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, or mental health
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary case-management team
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow program procedures and safety protocol
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position at light level (up to 20 lbs)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities in a structured program environment
  • Ability to observe, document, and recognize changes in participants’ presentation or needs
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with participants
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills

Qualifications

  • Community Support Worker, Human Service Worker or Social Service Worker Diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience working with adults in mental health
  • Cleared Criminal Record Check (through Ministry of Justice)
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Food Safe certificate
  • Proficient intermediate computer skills: Windows, MS Word, and Excel
  • Class 5 Driver’s License & reliable vehicle
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and Insurance & Claims Experience Record required
  • Experience facilitating yoga or mindfulness is an asset

Additional Employment Information

This position includes a six (6) month probationary period. Upon successful completion of probation, employees may be eligible for participation in the organization’s benefits program.
