There is potential to take on additional Goode Learning clients based on the teacher-tutor's availability, qualifications, and areas of expertise.

This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working individually with adolescents and recognizes that academic success involves more than understanding course content. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized, one-to-one instruction in students' homes throughout Toronto
  • Develop personalized sessions based on each student's current coursework, learning profile, and individual goals
  • Explicitly teach executive functioning strategies, including organization, planning, prioritization, task initiation, time management, and study skills
  • Help students break larger assignments, projects, and assessments into manageable steps
  • Support students in developing effective systems for managing schoolwork, deadlines, calendars, and academic responsibilities
  • Provide secondary mathematics support where required
  • Reinforce Ontario curriculum concepts and help students apply their learning independently
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning profiles
  • Monitor student progress and communicate relevant updates with the Goode Learning team
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students and families
  • Foster confidence, independence, self-advocacy, and effective learning habits

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)

  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario secondary curriculum
  • Experience working with high-school students
  • Strong understanding of executive functioning and effective learning strategies
  • Confidence supporting secondary mathematics
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
