Full job description

Position Summary:

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within an assigned territory. This role involves direct interaction with prospective and existing customers through in-person meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, goal-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering solutions that meet client needs. Success in this position requires effective territory management, consistent follow-through, and a focus on building lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Conducts in-person client visits, product demonstrations, and presentations
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and contracts
  • Meet or exceed sales goals
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions as needed
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on customer trends, market conditions, and competitor activity

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and inventory management software
  • Valid G License (Ontario)
  • Must be able to drive in all weather conditions
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or territory sales (2+ years preferred)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve and exceed targets
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong presentation and closing skills
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Industrial MRO, Safety, and Janitorial supplies
  • Experience with online order systems
  • Familiarity with consultative or solution-based selling techniques
