Full job description

Our company is a growing national leader in its industry with operations located across Canada. We are looking for an experienced individual to co-ordinate office operations in our purchasing department located in Edmonton.

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for compiling and maintaining all records of purchasing business transactions and activities of the Purchasing Department. This position works collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders including General Managers, Operations, Customer Service, and external vendors/suppliers ensuring orders are processed and delivered as per schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Collect purchase requisitions, create, and issue purchase orders, track all purchase
orders from inception to delivery.

· Communicate with vendors/suppliers and internal stakeholders.

· Track and document all purchase order shipping and delivery information.

· Source new products and vendors to continually seek out opportunities to improve
service and reduce cost.

· Generate purchasing financial information, reconciling general ledger accounting
monthly.

· Provide the purchasing commitments summary information every quarter.

· Compile a forecasting analysis every month.

· Enhance understanding of product expenditure management.

· Assist in product and supplier selection.

· Complete projects as directed by the Director of Purchasing.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Minimum of two years’ purchasing experience preferred.

· Mustpossess intermediate/advanced Excel knowledge.

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

· Be outcome oriented, work under pressure, self-motivated and possess a high
degree of initiative.

· High attention to detail with accuracy, ability to take ownership of projects/tasks.

· Ability to retain information, learner attitude and possess a strong work ethic.

· Excellent time management skills and able to multi-task.

· Ability to perform individually and as a team member.

NOTE: This position requires working on-site.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
