Full job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team, who has expertise in leading the Strategic Sourcing process and in Category management. The ideal candidate will have led RFx, supplier negotiations, supplier management to contract closing, all within a Strategic Procurement organization. The candidate will focus on managing end-to-end sourcing activities. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to manage competitive procurement processes and close high-value contracts that deliver cost savings, operational efficiency, and compliance within the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

RFx Management:

  • Develop and execute Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) processes for aircraft maintenance-related categories such as parts, equipment, and services.
  • Define clear RFx objectives, including scope, evaluation criteria, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to draft detailed specifications, requirements, and statements of work for RFx documents.
  • Manage supplier communication throughout the RFx process, including pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and bid evaluations.

Supplier Evaluation and Selection:

  • Analyze RFx responses, and build business cases, including pricing, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), commercial terms, quality, and compliance metrics, to identify the most suitable suppliers
  • Conduct supplier due diligence and risk assessments to ensure alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Present supplier recommendations and selection justifications to senior management and stakeholders.

Contract Negotiation and Closure:

  • Lead negotiations for high-value, complex contracts to secure favorable terms, pricing structures, and performance guarantees.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts in collaboration with legal, compliance, and operational teams.
  • Ensure that contracts include clear deliverables, milestones, and penalties for non-compliance or underperformance.

Cost Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings initiatives through spend analysis, competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, and contract renegotiation. And supplier relationship management ( SRM)
  • Implement strategies to manage and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across maintenance-related procurement categories.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • In collaboration with the proper departments, ensure that all RFx and contracting activities adhere to aviation regulations (e.g., TCAA, FAA, EASA) and internal procurement policies.
  • Mitigate contractual risks by incorporating appropriate clauses for warranties, indemnities, and liabilities.
  • Monitor contract compliance and support dispute resolution when necessary.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Provide detailed reports on business cases, savings achieved, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Maintain an updated database of supplier contracts, performance records, and market benchmarks.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management, category management. Having experience in the aviation sector is an asset.
  • Proven experience within a Strategic procurement organization, managing RFP/RFQ/RFI processes and closing high-value contracts.
  • Strong understanding of supplier evaluation methodologies and contracting best practices.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in Strategic Procurement, Strategic Sourcing , Category Management
  • Expertise in RFx process management and contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) procurement is a plus
  • Proficiency in procurement tools (e.g., Ariba) and data analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and their impact on procurement processes is a plus
  • Expertise in stakeholder management and influence

Certifications:

  • CPSM, CPM, or similar supply chain certifications or equivalent related experience
