Full job description

Elliot Lake Retirement Living (ELRL) is the leading provider of rental housing to retired and non-retired individuals in the province. ELRL owns a total of 1,375 residential units in the City of Elliot Lake.

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our portfolio of multi-residential buildings with a total of 990 units.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring that buildings are well maintained, staff are supported and accountable and contractors are delivering work to standard and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.

You will oversee 8 on-site Superintendents and 4 Cleaners across multiple properties and play a key role in maintaining building standards, compliance, and cost control across a significant asset base.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Overseeing and supporting completion of all maintenance and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Scheduling staff and ensuring coverage across all buildings.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors, confirming work is completed prior to invoice approval.
  • Assisting in managing the maintenance budget and monitoring costs.
  • Ensuring all required inspections, logs, and compliance requirements are completed and maintained.
  • Monitor and oversee snow removal, landscaping and site safety conditions.
  • Respond to operational issues and incidents in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years Management/Supervisory experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated Experience supervising staff or leading teams.
  • Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, boilers, elevators, fire systems, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards and legislation, including:
  • Ontario Building Code
  • Fire Code
  • ESA and TSSA requirements
  • Residential Tenancy Act
  • Strong organizational, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a current driver's license and provide a driver’s abstract.
  • Must provide a criminal record check
