Position Summary

Trail Bay Source for Sports is seeking a motivated Production Assistant to join our Custom Team & Corporate Sales department. This hands-on role supports the production of custom apparel for local businesses, schools, sports teams, and community organizations.

The successful candidate is dependable, highly organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Success in this role requires someone who is self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work. You take pride in your work, have exceptional attention to detail, and enjoy learning new skills.

Previous production, apparel decoration, printing, or embroidery experience is an asset, but not required. We are equally interested in candidates with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and genuine desire to learn and grow within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Read and accurately complete production orders generated through our Team Sales software.
  • Sort, organize, and prepare incoming customer orders for production according to established schedules and priorities.
  • Apply heat transfers, names, numbers, logos, and other graphics to garments using commercial heat press equipment.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure finished products meet our quality standards.
  • Count, sort, fold, package, and prepare completed customer orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Complete production orders accurately while meeting established deadlines.
  • Assist with the operation of Roland digital printers and vinyl cutters.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production workspace.
  • Perform routine cleaning and assist with preventative maintenance of production equipment, including printers, heat presses, vinyl cutters, and embroidery machines.
  • As skills and experience develop, receive training to operate our Tajima commercial embroidery machines, including:
  • Properly hooping garments, changing thread colours, needles, and bobbins.
  • Monitoring embroidery quality throughout production
  • Trimming and finishing embroidered garments.
  • Applicants who already possess graphic design experience and are proficient with CorelDRAW or similar design software may have opportunities to assist with artwork preparation and production design.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, embroidery, printing, or apparel decoration environment is an asset but not required.
  • A genuine interest in learning custom apparel production, garment decoration, and commercial embroidery equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven production environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to long-term employment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends during peak production periods.
