- Support process control, product quality, environmental monitoring, and metallurgical performance through reliable laboratory data and interpretation.
- Prepare standards, reagents, blanks, duplicates, spikes, and control samples in accordance with quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, worksheets, calibration logs, and certificates of analysis.
- Assist with method development, method validation, procedure updates, and continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, reagents, samples, and hazardous materials.
- Follow all company policies, laboratory procedures, environmental requirements, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Participate in incident investigations, audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective action follow-up as required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory technicians, students, or other team members when needed.
What you bring to the field:

- Experience with laboratory information management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and technical reporting.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, chemical hygiene, hazardous waste handling, and safe laboratory work practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple sample demands, and maintain accuracy under operational deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret laboratory data and explain technical results clearly to non-laboratory personnel.
- Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Collaborative approach with a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a laboratory setting with occasional exposure to refinery, process, and plant operating areas.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, lab coat, protective footwear, hearing protection, and respiratory protection where required.
