About the Position:
Reporting to the Manager, Data Assets & Generosity Services, this position will participate in database management activities to help ensure the clean and accurate data that is essential for fundraising activities, importing, exporting and assisting in developing data strategies to improve existing functions and to create new operations. Duties are primarily focused on database maintenance, updating, and basic analysis.
Some specific duties:Data Maintenance:
- Manage duplicates in Raiser's Edge (RE) and Luminate Online(LO)
- Review and resolve RE export to LO exceptions
- Review various data clean up queries daily
- Work with Senior Officer on new data projects as required to improve existing database functions and create new data strategies for new processes
- Update instruction manuals as required
- Import exception files for large import projects
- Import various files as assigned
- Update and build import and export profiles as required
- Import and export for additional projects as required to support team and organization
- Support the Senior Officer, Data Assets in meeting all data needs to support Revenue Development in achieving fundraising goals.
- Provide general administrative or event-related support to the department as required.
- Lead by example in professionalism and commitment to excellence.
- Commit to making the BC SPCA a provincial leader in fundraising expertise and results.
- Commit to continued education and learning as it relates to fundraising generally and database management, tools and trends specifically.
- Participate in Revenue Development and organizational staff meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Some post secondary school or equivalent in computer science, database management or relevant discipline and up to six months work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer).
- Computer experience: Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong excel skills are essential. Any CRM (Customer Relationship Management), regular expression, or Excel formula experience is an asset.
- Comfortable working with data: establishing data points, accurate record keeping, collecting data, analysis, using data to support initiatives, and to demonstrate success, need or areas of concern.
- Exceptional, written, oral and persuasive communication skills, including an ability to relate respectfully to a diverse audience.
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service skills: patience, professional, positive attitude, attention to detail, accuracy and adaptability
- Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues, customers and volunteers
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify problems and opportunities as well as bring forward solutions.
