Average Earnings: $20,000 – $30,000+ for the Summer

Firefly Solar is hiring motivated post-secondary students for our Summer Sales Program, designed to help students gain real-world business experience, develop high-income skills, and build a resume that stands out after graduation.

This is a full-time summer opportunity where students learn professional sales, communication, and business skills while earning strong commissions.

Most students graduate without learning the soft skills employers actually look for — communication, negotiation, confidence, and leadership. Our summer program is designed to develop those skills while giving you a chance to earn significant income over the summer.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real sales experience you can put on your resume
  • High-income communication and persuasion skills
  • Confidence speaking with people in real-world situations
  • Mentorship and training from experienced sales professionals
  • The ability to earn $20,000–$30,000+ over the summer

Many students who complete this program find it much easier to land competitive jobs after graduation because they have real-world business experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Meeting homeowners in Edmonton and surrounding areas
  • Educating homeowners about solar energy programs
  • Booking consultations for our solar specialists
  • Working with a team of other motivated students

Important: This is a door-to-door, high-commission sales role, meaning your income is performance-based. Students who work hard and stay consistent throughout the summer typically earn the most.

  • Commission Rate: $0.20 per watt
  • Average System Size: ~7 kW (7,000 watts)
  • Average Commission Per Funded Deal: ~$1,400

Who This Is For

  • Post-secondary students (university or college)
  • Students looking to build their resume and professional skills
  • Competitive individuals who want to earn strong income over the summer
  • People who enjoy working outdoors and meeting new people

Program Details

  • Full-time summer role (May – August)
  • Performance-based commission structure
  • Comprehensive training provided
  • Opportunity to continue part-time during the school year if desired

If you’re a student who wants to build real-world skills, earn strong income, and graduate with experience most students don’t have, we’d love to meet you.
