About Peaceful Art Studio:

We are an educational studio based here in Vancouver, B.C. Founded in 2012, our studio is dedicated to providing the best fundamental art/ design for students of all skill levels here in the lower mainland.

In addition to our regular art programs, we specialize in portfolio preparation specifically designed to help students who wish to study art/design at the university level. Our team consists of industry professionals who are also passionate about teaching art and design programs for upcoming artists. Peaceful Art Studio offers a wide variety of courses and subjects to help students explore their artistic passion. Through these courses, we help learners assemble competitive portfolios for top art/design schools in North America. Some courses include, animation foundations, illustration, introduction to architecture, and graphic design.

Who we are looking for:

Our ideal candidate is a practicing artist with prior teaching experience.

General art instructors are expected to lead well-organized classes and assist students in meeting their artistic goals. Portfolio Instructors will help students develop personalized portfolios that are required by BFA or BA applications. Over the past decade, our team of dedicated instructors has provided students with a solid foundation to begin studying art at top post-secondary art programs such as Emily Carr, OCAD, RISD, UAL, Pratt, SAIC, CCA, and Art Center. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a strong work ethic and those who are excited about collaborating with students to unlock their full artistic potential.

Education & Experience:

Specialization in any of the following (or a combination thereof): drawing, painting, digital art, video/film, photography, animation, sculpture, installation, and social practices. Prior teaching experience – either classroom, private instructional, or teaching assistant is required. Prior experience in academic environments is strongly preferred.

We are looking for candidates with experience in collaborative project management settings. Must be able to demonstrate one’s ability to work on a team and be a strong communicator. Co-teaching and/or mentoring experience is preferred.

We expect our instructors to be very organized in their practice as well as in administrative tasks. Excellent record-keeping skills are essential. This is a part-time position leading to a full-time position. A teaching commitment of 1 year is required.
