Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Intern to support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional patient care and medication management. This paid internship offers valuable hands-on experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting, ideal for students pursuing a career in pharmacy or healthcare. The intern will assist licensed pharmacists with daily operations, patient interactions, and medication preparation, gaining insight into pharmaceutical practices and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing under supervision
  • Support patient care activities, including answering basic questions and providing medication information
  • Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and documentation
  • Help organize and manage pharmacy supplies and stock levels
  • Learn and apply medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry and filing of prescriptions
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and health regulations within the pharmacy environment

Experience

  • Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with patient care procedures and medication administration processes is advantageous
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals enhances performance in this role
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
