Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to learn and grow in a healthcare setting?

We are looking for an energetic, outgoing team member to join our team FULL-TIME as an OPTICAL ASSISTANT at Downtown Vision, in the heart of downtown Toronto!

* Please note 1 year optical experience is required for this position. *

We provide routine eye exams, advance dry eye treatments and specialty contact lenses, along with a full-service optical with a curated mid to high end frame selection. Previous optical/optometry experience is highly recommended but training available for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Selling glasses and contact lenses, including frame selection, taking measurements, frame adjustments and recommending lenses to patients
  • Administering pre-testing before patients see the doctor
  • Reception work, including greeting patients at check-in, answer phone calls and email inquiries in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Checking out patients, taking payments and processing insurance claims
  • Booking appointments, including sending patient reminders and recalls

The Successful Candidate

  • Passionate about customer experience; a great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
  • Energetic, self-motivated to work and take up new initiatives
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • English proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous knowledge/experience (1 year in optical or medical setting)
  • Post-secondary education (bachelor’s degree or diploma)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
