Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Commercial Management department within our Legal division are looking for two (2) Co-op Student, Commercial Management to join the team! You will work with internal stakeholders to provide analytical support in the completion of required tasks and deliverables.

What will I be doing?

  • Assist with day-to-day activities for all Oracle Requisitions and Invoice Management to meet established objectives and prepare detailed and timely reports for approval.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to collect data, respond to queries and exchange information
  • Support and coordinate requirements and information for Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders and other supporting activities.
  • Support information flow across projects with Metrolinx teams, by participating in meetings and supporting coordination activities.
  • Provide assistance and support to staff in a variety of areas, including gathering, inputting, organizing, and interpreting data for reports/presentations/meetings/projects

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited co-op program in order to be considered for this position.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
  • Enrolled Business Administration or similar program at a post-secondary institution
  • Ability to analyze information and interpret complex issues.
  • Capacity for problem-solving, taking initiative, and proactively addressing issues, working within a team environment.
  • Previous experience working within a business environment is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across various departments and levels of the organization.
  • Competence in software such as Microsoft Office Suite. Exposure to Power BI would be an asset.
