About the Role

As a member of the Human Resources Team, the Senior HR Workday Analyst plays a key role in enhancing and optimizing Teranet’s Workday HCM environment to support an efficient, seamless employee and business experience. This position partners closely with HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors to provide insights, analyze business needs, improve processes, manage system enhancements, and ensure compliance across Workday HCM modules. With deep functional expertise and a strong focus on continuous improvement, the role helps translate business requirements into effective system solutions that strengthen operations, support organizational change, and enable the organization to get the most value from its HR technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the creation, development, and delivery of workforce reporting and dashboards (Workday, Adaptive Insights, Power BI) to support data-driven decision making.

  • Lead the ongoing enhancement and optimization of Teranet’s Workday HCM environment through project-based initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and the overall user experience.

  • Manage the intake, prioritization, and coordination of Workday HCM enhancements in partnership with HR, Finance, IT Enterprise Systems, and external partners.

  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and technical specifications, while assessing impacts and dependencies across the Workday tenant and downstream integrations and third-party integrations.

  • Act as the primary HR liaison for Workday HCM, providing troubleshooting support, guiding stakeholders through system changes, and helping ensure effective adoption of solutions.

  • Coordinate and support semi-annual Workday release testing, security access reviews, and ServiceNow ticket triage to maintain system integrity, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Support organizational changes, including acquisitions and divestitures, by partnering with cross-functional teams to design and implement Workday HCM solutions that meet business needs.

  • Contribute to HR business case development by gathering requirements, assessing resource implications, and supporting planning for future enhancements and investments.

  • Provide guidance to HR team members and external partners on Workday processes, best practices, and continuous improvement opportunities.

About You

  • You bring 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resources or a related field.

  • A strong understanding of Workday HCM modules, specifically HCM, Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Learning, Succession Planning, Talent (Performance) and Recruitment and how they connect across business processes and systems.

  • Skilled at translating business needs into clear system requirements and assessing impacts across a complex environment and applying strong business analysis practices.

  • You bring experience leading or supporting projects, with the ability to manage scope, timelines, priorities, and stakeholders to successfully deliver outcomes.

  • You bring experience in Workday testing using the Kainos SMART testing tool.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.

  • A strong communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners.

  • You bring sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality when working with sensitive employee and organizational information.

  • You are proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.

  • You are highly proficient in Workday, Jira, ServiceNow and Microsoft Office.

  • A CHRP designation would be considered an asset.
