Kasa Moto is a two-story contemporary Japanese restaurant and lounge that opened in the heart of Yorkville in the Spring of 2015. With a sprawling rooftop terrace, elevated design, and lush indoor topiary, Kasa Moto guests will enjoy a versatile dining experience that evolves from day to night.

Reporting to the Executive Culinary Leader, the Line Cook will be responsible for creating and executing various dishes to standard in a restaurant setting. Excellent hand-eye coordination and a wealth of culinary knowledge are required.

What You’ll Do


  • Create an environment that is warm, welcoming and filled with positivity for guests and employees
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Prepare station for service, complete mise en place and stock list
  • Prepare and cook dishes during service in a high-paced and detail-oriented kitchen
  • Prepare all assigned menu items in an efficient, consistent and timely manner
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Answer, report and follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers


What You’ll Need


  • 1-2 years of line cook experience in a commercial kitchen environment for Japanese cuisine preferred
  • Completion of high school
  • Exude positivity and possess a welcoming and enthusiastic attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Have extensive knowledge on cooking temperatures and general food safety regulations
