About Us

The Bufflehead Café, located within the Penticton Lakeside Resort, is the perfect place for guests to start their day, featuring specialty Starbucks coffees, a generous breakfast menu, and stunning views of Okanagan Lake. During the summer months, we also offer lunch and dinner service. We are committed to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere in a fast-paced environment. The Penticton Lakeside Resort also includes two other restaurants, 273 unique guestrooms, a private beach, and many more amenities for guests to enjoy.

We Take Care of Our Team

As a leader in the hospitality industry, we offer competitive compensation based on skill and experience. You are provided with a meal on-shift and/or discounts at the restaurants and outlets.

Your Role

The Bufflehead Café is looking for Hosts and Hostesses to welcome guests warmly and professionally, while coordinating the seating within the restaurant. As the first and last point of contact, your role requires a passion for creating lasting guest experiences and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they enter the restaurant
  • Manage the seating chart and assign tables across multiple server sections
  • Escort guest to their tables with menus
  • Educate yourself on the menu, to understand & communicate the menu options, answering questions & making recommendations when possible
  • Maintain a clean & organized entryway and host stand
  • Assist with stock and basic food prep, as required
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Bufflehead Manager (or shift supervisors)

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to multitask & work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoon, evenings, weekends, & holidays

Pay: From $18.25 per hour
