Job Overview

Oasis Orthodontics is a busy, patient-focused orthodontic practice dedicated to creating confident smiles in a warm, supportive environment. Our team values accuracy, teamwork, and great patient care. We're looking for a detail-oriented Records Technician to join us.

About the Role
The Records Technician captures and manages the diagnostic records our doctors use for treatment planning and progress tracking. You'll often be one of the first team members a new patient meets, so a friendly, reassuring manner is just as important as technical skill.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take high-quality diagnostic records, including intraoral and extraoral photographs, panoramic and cephalometric radiographs, and digital intraoral scans
  • Take alginate impressions and pour, trim, and label study models when needed
  • Upload, organize, and maintain patient records accurately in our practice management software
  • Prepare records for new patient consultations, progress checks, and debond appointments
  • Explain each step of the records process to patients and parents in a calm, clear way
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols and radiation safety standards
  • Keep imaging equipment, cameras, and scanners clean and in good working order, and report issues promptly
  • Support the clinical team with chairside assisting, sterilization, or other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Level I or Level II Dental Assisting certificate (required)
  • Current registration in good standing with the provincial regulatory body, where applicable
  • Radiography qualification (required for taking radiographs)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Orthodontic experience is an asset but not required; we're happy to train the right person
  • Experience with digital intraoral scanners (e.g., iTero) and orthodontic practice software (e.g., TOPS Ortho) is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
  • Warm, professional communication with patients of all ages

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
