Full job description

Our team is growing, and Marcon Metalfab (www.marconmetal.com) is hiring an experienced Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Delta’s Tilbury Park.

We are located in Tilbury Industrial Park in Delta BC, with four ways to get here - the Massey Tunnel, Alex Fraser Bridge, South Fraser Perimeter Rd., and Hwy 99.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer.
  • Maintain and enhance current customer relationships.
  • Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and processes required to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain a daily critical jobs schedule and keep shop management informed.
  • Verify job costing as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Estimating experience of $4-6 million annually.
  • Must be able to estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer.
  • 10+ years of steel fabrication knowledge.
  • 10+ years experience estimating for miscellaneous steel fabrication (ministry of transportation-focused).
  • Highly proficient at performing math and weight calculations.
  • Proficient at reading engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of steel fabrication process, steel grades, fastener grades, connection requirements, coating types, fabrication procedures, and installation requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and use of MS Office programs.
  • Experience managing projects from award to completion.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
