Job Overview

We are seeking reliable and customer-focused Closing Cashiers to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently processing transactions, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area at the end of each business day. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a professional demeanor to provide a seamless shopping experience for our customers. Bilingual skills and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, as well as familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of payment with precision
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting shoppers with product information or locating items
  • Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking supplies as needed
  • Manage end-of-day cash reconciliation and prepare reports for closing procedures
  • Demonstrate product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations during closing hours
  • Uphold store policies on phone etiquette, time management, and organizational standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cashiering, retail sales, or customer service preferred
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as Spanish or other languages are a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and merchandising concepts
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods and adhere to closing schedules
  • Professional appearance with good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide engaging customer interactions
  • Multilingual capabilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases

Pay: $18.40-$22.00 per hour
