NOW HIRING: PROFESSIONAL DOG WALKER (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR)

Wagging With Chantal Dog Walking Company – Toronto West End Serious Applicants Only | Valid G2 or G License Required | Reliable Personal Vehicle Required

This is not a casual dog-walking job.

Wagging With Chantal is a structured, high-standard dog walking company working in busy downtown Toronto. We are looking for someone who understands that this role comes with real responsibility, fast-paced decision-making, and strict safety protocols.

If you are seeking a long-term role and are serious about either changing your career path into dog care or already have professional dog-handling experience, this position may be the right fit.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

We are looking for someone who:

  • Thrives in structured environments with clear rules and protocols
  • Is comfortable working independently while staying in constant communication
  • Understands that we are responsible for living beings, and that responsibility is taken extremely seriously
  • Is confident navigating downtown Toronto driving, traffic, parking, and time-sensitive schedules
  • Is a fast-paced thinker who can assess situations quickly and calmly
  • Respects that our company protocols are non-negotiable and exist for safety reasons
  • Is committed to consistency, reliability, and long-term employment

This position is not suitable for someone looking for a side hustle, temporary work, or a low-responsibility job.

KEY CHALLENGES OF THE ROLE (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Applicants must be comfortable with:

  • Driving throughout downtown Toronto using their own reliable vehicle
  • Being fully responsible for the safety and wellbeing of multiple dogs at once
  • Learning and applying dog behaviour knowledge, pack management, and safety procedures
  • Making quick, informed decisions in real-time environments
  • Working within a larger company structure with strict protocols and expectations

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This is a physically and mentally active role. You will:

  • Use your own vehicle to pick up 4–6 dogs per walk (eventually managing 6–12 dogs once fully trained)
  • Safely transport dogs to and from designated off-leash parks
  • Conduct structured, hour-long pack walks
  • Monitor dog behaviour, group dynamics, and safety at all times
  • Communicate consistently with management and the team via smartphone
  • Follow daily schedules, routes, and protocols without deviation
  • Return dogs safely to their homes after each walk

Service Area:
Toronto West End — Bathurst to Jane (East–West), St. Clair to King (North–South)

REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

  • Valid G2 or G Driver’s License
  • A reliable personal vehicle in excellent working condition that is large enough to safely transport up to six dogs. A standard sedan is not suitable for this position. SUVs, crossovers, minivans, station wagons, or similarly sized vehicles are required.
  • Confident downtown Toronto driving experience
  • Smartphone with reliable data plan
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
  • Strong communication skills and responsiveness
  • Ability to think quickly, stay calm, and problem-solve independently
  • Willingness to commit to at least one year
  • Available full-time weekdays (9:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and organized
  • Independent contractor status

WHAT WE OFFER

  • In-depth training and onboarding (this role requires learning and accountability)
  • A structured, professional work environment
  • Support from an experienced team
  • The opportunity to build a real career in professional dog care
  • Consistent weekday hours
  • Active, outdoor work with purpose and responsibility

TO APPLY

Please reply with:

  • A brief introduction about yourself
  • Your availability
  • The make, model, and year of the vehicle you will be using for work
  • Your experience with dogs (personal or professional)
  • Why you believe you are suited for a high-responsibility, structured dog walking role

Serious applicants only.

This position requires commitment, maturity, respect for safety standards, and a reliable vehicle capable of safely transporting multiple dogs every day.

Pay: $128.00-$288.00 per day
