OUR COMPANY

Stratica Dermatology is a specialized dermatology practice that prioritizes excellent patient care. Our facility promotes overall wellness through dermatological services provided by experienced Dermatologists and General Practitioners with a specialization in skin. Stratica Dermatology was founded in 2005 and provides cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatology treatments to all age groups.

PURPOSE

Stratica Dermatology is looking to add a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to our clinic in St. Albert. The ideal candidate for this role has open availability, is self-motivated, and has a strong interest in the Dermatology field. This individual is a good multitasker and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Treat conditions such as acne, eczema, rashes, skin cancer, atopic dermatitis, hair loss, skin infections, etc.

· Observe, assess, monitor, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress

· Perform basic medical and cosmetic procedures, educate and inform patients about self-care, medication management, and disease prevention

· Council patients in a confidential manner on the details and risks of procedures and treatments

· Possess advanced product knowledge to educate and advise clients on appropriate care out of clinic

· Assist physician with charting and billing needs

· Receive additional training in biopsy, suturing, and removals before performing said procedures

· Assist in wide local excisions alongside dermatologists

· See an average of 20-25 patients in an 8-hour shift

· Follow clinic protocols to ensure no medical or clerical errors are made

· Communicate effectively within the nursing team to ensure a cohesive team environment

· Perform procedures such as suturing, biopsy’s, and removals

· Participate in in house and out of house trainings as required

· Responsible for sterilizing equipment, clean-up and cleanliness of treatment rooms

· Follow clinic procedures to ensure medical inventory is accurate and kept up to date

· Perform other duties as requested by management and doctors

· Complete AHS billing after patient appointment

· Complete charting in room and send off necessary consultation letters

· Inform patients of appropriate skincare and sell products when appropriate for the patient

QUALIFICATIONS

· LPN diploma from an accredited institution

· Current registration within the provincial licensing body

· Current CPR certification valid within Alberta (preferred)

· 2+ years of private or public practice nursing experience (preferred)

· Previous experience in the dermatology sector (preferred)

· Experience using and EMR (preferred)

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Ability to work as a team and independently

· Flexible availability, willingness to work weekends and evenings
