Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team and help ensure the efficient and safe operation of our fleet. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing schedules, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams. You’ll play a key part in tracking bin movements, resolving logistical challenges, and keeping accurate records for compliance and billing. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, communicates effectively, and is comfortable using tracking systems and spreadsheets. If you’re a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers and clients, providing clear instructions and updates.
  • Monitor driver progress, resolve scheduling conflicts, and address unexpected delays or breakdowns.
  • Track and report compliance of safety regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and fuel usage.
  • Coordinate with management to meet project deadlines and optimize fleet utilization.
  • Handle emergency calls, after-hours concerns (on rotation if needed), and provide solutions under pressure.
  • Support administrative tasks such as preparing reports and updating data.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily trucking operations
  • Dispatch drivers, assign loads, and monitor progress
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, legal, and company requirements
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and hours in service rules.
  • Excellent communication skills. Both verbal and written, with a client care focus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient with ELD/GPS tracking programs, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must display strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A team player with the ability to build strong working relationships with drivers and clients.
  • Knowledge of trucking regulations and fleet management systems is an asset

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain professional communication with drivers, contractors, and management.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making under pressure.
  • Uphold Stromsten Transportation Group’s values of communication, transparency, and integrity.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to grow within a well-established, family-run company.
  • Supportive team environment focused on safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
