Full job description

We are looking for a dedicated and organized Food Service Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen and service operations, ensuring that our high standards for food quality and customer satisfaction are consistently met. This is a strictly on-site position requiring a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage a diverse team.

Key Details

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Languages: Proficient English is required. Knowledge of Nepali or Hindi is considered a significant asset.
  • Location: 100% On-site (No remote work available).

Responsibilities & Tasks

As a supervisor, you will be expected to lead by example and handle the following duties:

  • Operations: Establish work schedules and methods to meet daily demands. Estimate and requisition food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of 1 to 4 staff members. Hire, train, and instruct staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all food and service meet strict quality standards. Instruct cooks on the preparation, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Administration: Maintain detailed records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage. Prepare budget/cost estimates, food order summaries for the Chef, and regular reports.
  • Customer Care: Address guest complaints or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems such as Micros POS efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely stock replenishment

Skills & RequirementsTechnical Specialization

  • Culinary Knowledge: Must have deep knowledge of the establishment's specific culinary genres.
  • Credentials: Valid Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling certificates are mandatory.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Social Media for business and basic computer systems.
  • Marketing: Experience in Sales and Marketing is a strong asset.

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of standing for extended periods, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • A mix of administrative tasks (sitting) and active floor management (standing/walking).
