Job Summary:

Do you love working in a caffè environment where quality and consistency are key? Caffè Sorrentino is looking for a part-time or full-time Barista to join our team! The Barista is a key position within our organization that plays a crucial role in providing excellent internal and external customer service.

The Barista at Caffè Sorrentino is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through the preparation and service of high-quality coffee, espresso beverages and food offerings. This role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail and a warm, welcoming approach that reflects Caffè Sorrentino's commitment to hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and ensure timely service.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the caffè's menu, including specials and promotions.
• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty drinks to brand standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, equipment, and guest areas.
• Restock caffè supplies, pastries, and retail items as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health & safety standards.
• Practice responsible selling and serving alcohol to patrons at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service.
• Handle guest questions, preferences, and concerns professionally.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of previous barista experience preferred but not required.
• Fluent in English.
• ProServe Certification is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and optimal memorization skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
