Full job description

At Canada Diagnostic Centres (“CDC”), we are driven by helping Canadians access diagnostic services and providing remarkable experiences to our patients every day. Our care is compassionate, accurate and timely to help patients make progress in their health journey. We live by our vision of “Remarkable Care. Remarkable Careers.”

We are looking for recent or upcoming Diagnostic Medical Sonography graduates who are eligible for or registered with the ACMDTT to join our expanding outpatient clinics as full-time, part-time, or casual Ultrasound Technologists. Working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, you’ll explain procedures, position patients, adjust equipment, and capture diagnostic images. Bringing compassion and clarity to each patient interaction, you’ll help ensure remarkable care every visit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform Ultrasound Exams: Conduct routine and specialized sonography imaging under the direction of Radiologists and referring Physicians, while adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide Remarkable Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Teams: Partner with radiologists and other teams to help deliver a seamless and thoughtful experience.
  • Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to refine existing skills, build new competencies, and specialize in additional skillsets such as Interventional, MSK, and Breast.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow privacy, confidentiality, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Systems: Track ultrasound equipment performance, document findings, and resolve basic issues.
  • Prepare and Maintain Work Areas: Prepare and stock exam rooms for exams and procedures; report low inventory as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional Membership: Current registration, or eligibility, with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT), or eligibility for registration.
  • Ultrasound Experience: Clinical competency as a generalist sonographer, with an interest in refining and expanding skills in advanced practice areas such as MSK, OB/GYN, vascular and cardiac exams, and interventional procedures.
  • A Compassionate Approach: A history of remarkable care, collaboration, adaptability, and flexibility.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Industry-leading wages and unique additional earning opportunities.
  • Sign-On Bonus: A welcome incentive for joining our team (terms and conditions apply).
  • Relocation Allowance: Financial assistance for eligible candidates to help with moving expenses.
  • Generous Time Off: Vacation, personal days, sick leave, and paid time off for your birthday for full-time and part-time team members. Casual team members receive vacation pay.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program (terms and conditions apply).
  • Learning & Development: Specialized training opportunities, along with an annual education allowance for part-time and full-time team members.
  • Long-Term Savings Program: RRSP/TFSA plan (terms and conditions apply).
  • Income Protection: Short-term and long-term disability coverage available for part-time and full-time team members.
  • Life Insurance: Coverage to protect you and your loved ones (terms and conditions apply).
  • Professional Licensing Support: Funding available for Sonography Canada and ACMDTT membership fees.

Additional Information

  • Students and Recent Graduates: We welcome applications from Diagnostic Medical Sonography students completing their studies in 2026, 2027, or 2028, as well as recent graduates who completed their studies in 2025 and 2026!
  • Position Types: Full-time, part-time or casual options to align with your schedule and career goals.
  • Consistent Schedule: Daytime, Monday to Friday.
  • Work Location: Clinic assignments will be discussed during the candidacy process and guided by operational needs and professional development, with preferences considered where possible.
  • Out-of-Province Applicants: Eligibility for registration with the ACMDTT is required.
