Full job description

Original Gravity Beverage + Hospitality Group

At Original Gravity, craft beer runs deeper than a recipe; it’s a way of life rooted in community, creativity, and a love for great taste. Home to six distinct locations across Ontario (Huntsville, Bracebridge, Baysville, Gravenhurst, and Hamilton), we celebrate the spirit of beer all the way from serene nature to the grit of the city through every pint we pour.

From the lakeside heart of Gravenhurst, where Sawdust City Brewing believes there are no rules but “make great beer,” to the welcoming vibe of Lake of Bays Brewing, where community and fun pair perfectly with every glass, and the bold innovation of Hamilton’s Merit Brewing, which fuses culinary artistry with brewing craft, Original Gravity unites these stories under one name.

Beyond our locations, and within our family of brands, we understand that each brand is unique to the other. We work hard to honour each of their established brand identities within the marketplace, but united under a shared goal of quality, consistency, creativity, and connection. We are also a “beverage” company - meaning while beer is the base of our foundation, we have a growing portfolio in other beverage categories including non-alcoholic and RTDs.

We are proud to offer our team members:

  • A positive, diverse and inclusive company culture
  • Competitive compensation & benefits package based on skills and experience
  • Paid time off including vacation, personal days and bereavement time
  • Discounted merch & food
  • Car allowance

Network Technician @ Original Gravity Beverage + Hospitality Group

What YOU will be doing:

As our Network Technician, you will be the backbone of our IT operations. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading our network systems across the entire facility. This includes ensuring our taproom Point-of-Sale (POS) systems stay online during busy weekends, securing our back-office data, and maintaining the network connectivity that supports our automated brewing equipment.

If you are a tech-savvy problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (and appreciates a good craft beer), we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points across the brewery and taproom.
  • System Support: Ensure high availability and seamless operation of taproom POS systems, inventory management software, and back-office computers.
  • Brewery Tech Integration: Work alongside the brewing team to ensure network connectivity for automated brewing control systems and sensors.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support to brewery staff, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly.
  • Security & Backups: Implement and monitor network security protocols, manage user access, and ensure regular data backups are completed successfully.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, hardware inventory, and IT procedures.

What YOU bring to the table:

  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in network administration, IT support, or a similar technical role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Experience configuring and managing Wi-Fi networks in a commercial space.
  • Familiarity with POS hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a high degree of patience when helping non-technical staff.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs (servers, networking gear) and maneuver around a working brewery environment.
  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License in good standing is required.
  • Bonus: Previous IT experience in the hospitality, manufacturing, or brewing industries.

Working Conditions:

  • This is an in-person position between all locations
  • Typical working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Work outside your “normal” hours may be required in peak season
  • Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer

If this sounds like a great fit to you, submit your resume and cover letter online today!

  • We do not use AI in the sourcing or screening process
  • This is a vacant position
