EyeLook Media is a managed services company with a focus and expertise unified digital communications. We create solutions for our customers in the areas of digital signage, interactive applications, website creation, social media management and content creation.

POSITION TITLE: Technical Specialist
REPORTS TO: You will report to the President & CEO and manage the hardware and software behind EyeLook Media’s digital services, including both network and client-based solutions.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
You will be responsible for various internet and hardware/software-based functions within the parameters of EyeLook Media’s daily operations and that of the company’s respective clients. The Technical Specialist provides training and consultation to clients and coworkers, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the implementation of vendors for EyeLook's digital signage solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues for digital signage software/hardware.
  • Uploading and removing of digital display content in a timely manner through CMS systems displaying customer-facing screens.
  • Be the technical support for company staff and clients.
  • Write and maintain technical manuals and documentation.
  • Occasional after-hours support to clients who may have technical issues.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical clients to solve technical issues.
  • Provide all the necessary assistance to the users including hardware issues related to desktops, computer peripherals, such as printers, scanners, general hardware, monitors, etc., or software assistance concerning installation and updating of software.
  • Keep track of all the IT-related issues in the organization.
  • Tracking of system functionality.
  • Purchase of new software and hardware equipment as required for clients and office.
  • Be informed of all the internal and external organization data.
  • Oversee the maintenance, backing up, and securing of databases, as well as retrieving files when needed.
  • Train coworkers from non-technical backgrounds on information systems.
  • On-site maintenance of computer hardware and software on occasion.
  • Rare assistance with on-site installation of digital signage and interactive kiosk deployments within London and surrounding area.
  • Research and stay up to date on new technologies and methodologies.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Community College Diploma or University Graduate in engineering, computer science or a related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.

  • Exposure to technical writing
  • Hardware and software certification
  • Program certifications
  • Technical courses in software and hardware installations, operating systems, spreadsheet applications, troubleshooting and networking will be advantageous.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years in a professional IT capacity

PERSONAL PROFILE:
You will have to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients and/or company staff. Reliable internet access is required.

  • Extensive knowledge of information technologies and systems
  • Ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer service
  • Taking ownership of all IT related issues
  • A strong technical understanding of computer hardware/software
  • A Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for occasional on-site visits
  • Experience with digital media players preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
You will have to do some lifting of computer equipment, supplies and materials from time to time. Ladder use may be needed when assisting with occassional installations. Hardware tool use (drills, levels, etc.) may be needed when completing installs of TVs and kiosks.
