Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and mentorship to children and adolescents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for youth
- Supervise and monitor the well-being of youth participants
- Provide emotional support and guidance to youth facing challenges
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe and nurturing environment
- Educate youth on various topics such as life skills, decision-making, and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate records of participant progress and behavior
- Establish positive relationships with parents or guardians
- Meal preparation, household cleaning, transporting youth to appointments, participating in recreational activities
- Working collaboratively with supporting community agencies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to educate and inspire youth towards personal growth
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards the needs of young individuals
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the youth program
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
The following documents/certifications are required for all RYW applicants:
- Broad Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Ontario Class G Driver`s License and access to a vehicle
- Vehicle Insurance
- Complete immunization record including Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus and Diphtheria, and a recent 1-Step TB test
- Secondary or Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate related to social services
- Signed Medical Note (candidates will be given a template)
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- 2 employer references and 1 personal reference
- Child Welfare Check with Children`s Aid Societies using the CPIN system will be conducted before employment.
