Full job description

PaintScout is building the operating system that helps professional painting contractors run stronger, more confident businesses. We create tools that make their work easier, their days smoother, and their companies more profitable — and that mission guides everything we do.

We’re now at a stage where growth isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing the right things, consistently. The product works. Customers see real value. Now we need sharper alignment across how we show up, how we communicate, and how we grow.

That’s where this role comes in.

About the Role

The Head of Marketing owns how PaintScout shows up in the market — and how demand is created.

This role leads Marketing with full responsibility for demand generation, messaging, positioning, and brand direction. From first touch through handoff to Sales, this person owns the system that turns interest into qualified pipeline and ensures we are showing up clearly and consistently everywhere prospects encounter us.

This is not a “content-only” or “brand-only” role. It’s a leadership role focused on building a durable, measurable marketing engine that drives predictable revenue.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Owning net-new pipeline creation
  • Leading and aligning Marketing with the broader company vision
  • Setting overall marketing strategy, design, and brand direction
  • Ensuring consistent positioning across website, ads, content, product messaging, and sales materials
  • Defining and enforcing our ICP
  • Building demand that converts — not vanity traffic
  • Improving funnel performance, conversion rates, and velocity
  • Maintaining pricing integrity and deal quality
  • Using data and customer insight to continuously improve our go‑to‑market approach

What Success Looks Like

  • PaintScout has a clear, confident market presence
  • Messaging and brand are consistent across every touchpoint
  • Marketing and Sales operate in lock‑step
  • Lead quality improves quarter over quarter
  • Forecasts are accurate and trusted
  • Growth feels intentional instead of reactive

Required Qualifications

These are the capabilities that distinguish someone who can build a marketing engine from someone who can only operate within one.

Must‑Have Experience

  • 5–10+ years in B2B SaaS, with at least 3 years tied to a revenue number (pipeline, bookings, or ARR)
  • Leadership experience across Marketing (and ideally Sales alignment)
  • Proven ability to build or rebuild a repeatable GTM motion in a scaling SaaS company
  • Demonstrated success improving conversion rates, funnel efficiency, and deal quality
  • Experience defining and enforcing ICP, segmentation, and qualification standards
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, attribution, and demand generation
  • Experience developing positioning and messaging for a technical or vertical SaaS product
  • Ability to create accurate forecasts and manage revenue pacing
  • Comfortable working directly with a founder/CEO in a fast‑moving environment
  • A proven track record of creating and implementing brand guidelines

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SMB SaaS, vertical SaaS, or field‑service software
  • Experience selling into trades, construction, or home‑services industries
  • Hands‑on familiarity with HubSpot, Chargebee, or similar tools
  • Experience building a small but high‑impact GTM team from early stages

The Kind of Person This Role Fits

You’ll likely thrive here if you:

  • Have owned a revenue‑linked marketing number before
  • Understand both performance marketing and brand positioning
  • Think in systems, not silos
  • Are comfortable with accountability
  • Make clear decisions and stand behind them
  • Care about customer trust and long‑term reputation
  • Communicate clearly and directly
  • Prefer building something meaningful over chasing short‑term wins

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a pure sales role
  • Not a brand‑only or content‑only role
  • Not growth at all costs

Why PaintScout

  • Founder‑led, profitable SaaS
  • Clear product–market fit
  • Real customers running real businesses
  • A team that values clarity, ownership, and trust
  • Opportunity to shape both revenue and brand at a pivotal stage of growth

If this sounds like a challenge you’d enjoy, we’d love to talk.

Apply with a short note about why this role interests you and your experience leading marketing or revenue‑aligned teams.
