Barista and Cashier

UB SOCIAL LOCATED IN THE JUNCTION is hiring

YOU WILL:
Create unforgettable beverages including espresso-based drinks
Seek every opportunity to enhance the guest experience with every interaction and provide consistent and individualized guest attention.
Keep the cafe facilities clean and well maintained
Restock product such as beans, cups and food
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.

Complete sale with guests, using cash, debit/credit and Mobile App.
Maintain coffee and food freshness standards while also controlling waste.
Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance

YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
Excellent guest service skills You have integrity, show kindness with each interaction and do it with GUSTO!
Coffee passion! An ambassador for our brand takes great pride in what you do

Also know that in this active & exciting role you will be:
Standing for extended periods of time
Some bending, reaching and turning is required
Exposure to noise (blenders, espresso machine), heat (steam from espresso machine)

  • This role is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, so there are specific requirements for applicants. The position is minimum 34 hours/week, starting June 1 for 8 weeks, with the potential to continue on a permanent basis afterward. If you meet the criteria below, please reply to let us know.

To be eligible for Canada Summer Jobs, you must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years old on June 1
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job and
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

o This includes having a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of your summer job.
