Full job description

Manning Park Resort is a year-round resort located between Hope and Princeton, BC. If you are ready to leave the hustle and bustle of city life, and enjoy outdoor fun and adventure, this place is for you. Staff housing is available, so your dream of living in the mountains is part of your adventure at Manning Park Resort.

We are presently looking for our next great team member as Visitor Center Agent to join our Park Operations team. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)
  • Welcome walk-in visitors and help with their inquiries; including but not limited to campgrounds, campsites, hiking trails, rentals.
  • Answer the phone calls and emails in a timely manner to provide guests with information on all facets of the experience while assisting guests at the counter.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Represent BC Parks in a professional manner.
  • Assist Collections & Gatehouse with determining campsite availability.
  • Liaise with BC Parks information services to inform them of campground occupancy and vacancies.
  • Collect and communicate visitor feedback and follow-up on visitor interactions where appropriate.
  • Create displays that help promote sales within the Visitor Centre.
  • Process transactions and ensure balancing of the cash register at the end of day.
  • Administrative duties include working with and building Excel/Google spreadsheets.
  • Keep working and public spaces clean throughout the day (office, public toilets, etc.)
  • Assist the operation department with other tasks as required which may include but is not limited to cleaning and maintaining parks facilities such as pit toilets, garbage bins, campsites, picnic tables, firepits communal areas, wash houses, and shower stalls.
  • Other tasks as required within MPR.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Friendly & outgoing with exceptional customer service.
  • Previous experience handling money and record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment as both an individual and a team player.
  • Work well under time constraints, and in stressful conditions.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use cleaning supplies (all-purpose cleaner, bleach, Windex, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask duties and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Available to work flexible hours. 32-40hrs per week.
  • Fluent in English. A second language would be considered an asset.

This is a Seasonal Position so you must be able to commit to the role for the full Summer season (June - September)
