What will you do?

  • Analyze customers' technical setup to better judge on aspects of product and solution integration from Energy Automation offerings
  • Complete technical analyses and support proposal process at any stage as part of the sales team.
  • Perform the review of task plans, drawings and installation schematics and provides guidance in the phase of product test integration.
  • Provide assistance and support to Technical and sales / customers teams in building configurations, engineering diagrams and test energy automation products with guidance from Sales/technical teams
  • Provide (on site / off site) assistance to the Technical and Sales teams / customers for troubleshooting customer issues relating to Energy and Automation products.
  • Build a strong knowledge base in end-to-end solutions from the Energy Automation perspective - Protection Relays, Automation RTUs, Power Quality, PMS/EMCS, HMI Systems
  • Provide innovative Protection, Control, Monitoring and Automation solutions to customers.
  • Identify any technical deviations and outline action items to resolve them by coordinating with R&D or implementing appropriate applications.
  • Conduct testing of devices at customer and Siemens location as part of approval process.
  • Provide customer with training on SIEMENS Protection & Automation Products
  • Provide demos to customer on SIEMENS Protection & Automation Products

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in the Protection and Control
  • Good level of knowledge of Siemens Protection Systems – on SIPROTEC Relays, DIGSI 4 and DIGSI 5, to successfully demonstrate to customers and partners.
  • Knowledge of Other Protection Systems – GE Relays, SEL Relays, Micom Relays, ABB Relays
  • Knowledge of Power Quality Systems, SICAM PQS, SICAM Q80, SICAM P855
  • Knowledge of Automation Systems, SICAM A8000, SICAM S8000
  • Good understanding of Substation Environment – Switchgear, Transformers, etc.
  • Able to read and analyze detailed Electrical Schematic Drawings
  • Able to realize network topologies and architecture drawings
  • Good understanding of communication protocols – IEC61850, Modbus, DNP3, OPC
  • Willing to travel up to 40% of the time mainly within Western Canada
