Full job description

Position: Existing

Continual Energy Inc. deploys cutting-edge, specialized energy solutions for buildings. We are currently looking for experienced service technicians to perform maintenance and upgrades on existing Building Automation Systems (BAS) of varying configurations and scales.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to service manager for dispatch and scheduling of BAS service work orders and contracts.
  • Perform maintenance, configuration, and upgrade of existing controls and energy reduction systems.
  • Review and revise existing controls sequences/logic/programming.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting w/ tools.
  • Recommissioning/recalibration of existing systems to achieve either original design intent or present-day operational requirements.
  • Completion of daily service reports and timesheets.
  • Regular commute to downtown core w/ occasional travel within GTA.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge and experience with mechanical and/or HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge and advanced industry experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC), including experience with: Communications protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, installation of controls hardware, instrumentation, and other related devices, Familiarity with Tridium’s Niagara 4 software.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of interacting with clients and team members daily.
  • Ability to take direction while working in a fast-paced team and collaborative environment, must be able to multi-task and maintain organization.
  • Very comfortable with Windows-based computer systems and computer networks.

Additional desired skills, but not required:

  • Mechanical or Electronic Engineering Degree/Diploma.
  • Experience with systems and technologies including, but not limited to: Honeywell, Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI), Siemens, Distech-Controls, Alerton, Automated Logic (ALC)
  • Java programming experience.
  • Familiarity with DGLogik’s DGLux5 software.
  • Certifications or experience to allow work on high voltage equipment and electrical panels.

Qualifications and Education Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with building automation systems and controls.
  • Electronic, Electrical, HVAC, or Mechanical/Electrical Technologist Diploma or similar.

Compensation:

  • Salary range $65,000 to $115,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
  • Three (3) weeks of vacation.
  • Ten (10) paid days off (sick days).

Schedule:

  • Capable of passing an Ontario Contractor Security Screening Check (no criminal record).
