• Independent Contractor Local (160km) - Shunt trailer from storage yard to dock doors on company property and surrounding roadways.
• Make scheduled deliveries to clients within the food industry.
• Operating tractor-trailer equipped with the multi-speed transmission (Automatic) safely by adhering to all safety requirements
• ‪Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor-trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel, and air leaks
• ‪Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses. Keep the truck clean to ensure high cleanliness standards as represented by Freshouse foods.
• ‪Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.
• ‪Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
• ‪Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
• ‪Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation
• Develop business relationships with clients through daily operations
• Delivery to local businesses and warehouses within Ontario, no long-distance driving necessary
• Rarely however may have to hand bomb products from skids and transport to required locations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Must have an AZ / DZ license, clean abstract, insurance certificate, and CVOR within the last 30 days.
• A strong customer service attitude, and enjoy interacting with various clients within the food industry.
• Must be able to lift between 60lbs to 90lbs consistently and enjoy a job that will keep you physically fit.
• ‪Minimum of 5 years verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
• ‪Excellent communication skills
• ‪Must have excellent safety and compliance record
• ‪Must have excellent driving skills, Reefer experience is an asset
• ‪Flexibility to accommodate different start time.

Working Conditions

• Delivering outdoors in all seasonal weather.
• Must be able to handle all types of food products including chicken, beef, and pork.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
